Journalism begins with a

conversation about your

success and challenges

Let’s Get To Know Each Other

I’m a journalist who focuses on the complex transnational experiences that Latinos face in the U.S. and around the Americas, caring most about the communities’ access to health care, food, jobs, green spaces, business development, education and leadership skills.

Anchored in listening and engagement tactics, my journalism aims to impact the lives of bilingual Latinos by centering their experiences, positioning them in the larger contexts of society, empowering them to act or mobilize, and by fostering a sense of belonging that builds on purpose.

I’ve produced multimedia work for mainstream news media and community news media in print, broadcast, digital and messaging platforms the last 13 years.

Eager to build on my own news products, I’ve trained in editorial content production, news media leadership, resource management, audience engagement and development, business structure, and branding.

This Is How I Work

First, we engage. Second, I listen. Then, we get the journalism done together.

North Philadelphia Mural Showcases Immigrant Voices Across Generations
A 3,000-square-foot mural now brightens North Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican barrio. It honors the city’s immigrant communities and sanctuary city spirit.
The artwork reflects South and Central American populations joining long-standing Caribbean-densed neighborhoods.
Rubén Vásquez and the Return of the Unión Latina

Due to the lack of support and official recognition as the Latino fan base for the Philadelphia Union, Rubén Vásquez decided to end his time hosting tailgates and parties in favor of the local soccer team. After a two year hiatus, he decided to give it another try.
